    FAQ

Still not sure if we can be of help? Check through some frequently asked questions and then send us a message.

You can come all year round; with an average of 8 hours’ sunshine per day, Victoria Falls is beautiful every day of the year.
From the end of August, the temperatures start rising, and by November it is very hot and dry. The typical African landscape turns very brown and can feel a bit harsh. However, this is the best time for game viewing.
By November we all hope for the rains to arrive and the days can be hot and muggy. Rarely does it rain all day, rather thunder storms build up in the late afternoon and a torrential downpour refreshes all. The golden light after a storm makes for wonderful photography.
Sometime between February and April the Zambezi headwaters arrive from upstream in Zambia and Angola and the spray from the Falls is tremendous. Photography and visibility can be hampered by the continual downpour.
Our winter months are from early May to mid-August and day time temperatures drop into the mid 20’s Celsius / 70’s Fahrenheit. Generally, the skies are cloudless and beautifully blue, making this a very pleasant time of year. Evening and early mornings can be very cool and it is always advisable to pack some long pants and a sweater – especially if you plan to do some early morning game viewing.

We welcome children aged 6 years and over.  Please be aware that the Lodge is surrounded by natural bushland and wildlife, and that we have an open swimming pool area. Children must be mature enough to follow safety instructions.

Whilst malaria is not common in Victoria Falls, your doctor or travellers medical centre will prescribe you with an appropriate prophylactic.  We believe that travel insurance is a compulsory part of any well-planned safari and that it should cover unforeseen cancellations, medical and evacuation cover as well as your luggage. Having said that we are pleased to advise that there are two excellent private clinics in Victoria Falls and they are manned by qualified and experienced staff.

Apart from viewing the magnificent Victoria Falls, there is an activity to suit just about everybody’s dreams.  Including white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking and canoeing, gorge swing, zip wire, flying fox, sunset cruises on the Zambezi, game viewing activities, walking safaris, horseback safaris, fishing, golf, helicopter scenic flights, cultural experiences and lots of local crafts … we would love to help you plan your African dream.
